Introducing Noor

Assalamualaikum. Hi, I'm Arief from Alokita, the developer behind Noor. Noor is many things, and in this blog post, I'll share with you what Noor is for me. Hopefully by reading this, you will find how Noor can help you to become a better human being.

I born and grew up in Indonesia, a biggest Muslim country in the world, with over 200 million Muslims. It's always easy to know when to pray because in every corner of the country, you will hear the adhan from the mosques' loudspeakers. After I moved to Singapore for my job, I found out that it's not as easy as it was. However, it's not about knowing when Maghrib time comes. It's more than that. It's about the core foundation of life and faith, and what make ourselves a better human.

Even though I started learning how to read quran since a very young age, reading about 25 prophets and their stories since elementary school, went to a high school that has a strong Islamic background where we read quran every morning and pray Dhuhr together. But it's still not enough to make me 100% sure about my faith.

Noor is Arabic for "light" and it's mentioned so many times in the Quran. We even have a surah named after it, Surah An-Nur.

I believe that every one has their own light, and our light is originated from the creator, Allah SWT. However, some of us may have lost our light along the way.
